Welcome & goodbye

The messages Naeris posts when someone joins or leaves. The dashboard shows a live preview as you type, and can post a test with you as the new member.

The message

The Welcome and Goodbye tabs work the same way. Turn on Post a welcome message (or goodbye), pick a Channel, then write:

  • Message text: plain text above the card. The place to ping the newcomer with {member}.
  • The Card: Card text, Card colour, Card footer, and Show the member's avatar in the corner.
  • Image URL: a banner at the bottom of the card. Left empty, welcome messages use Naeris's own image.

Everything is optional except the channel. With nothing written, Naeris posts a one-line default in the server's language, with its welcome image for arrivals.

Send a test posts the saved message in its channel, with you as the new member. Save first: the test uses what is saved, not what is on screen.

Variables

VariableBecomes
{member} or {member:mention}a mention of the member
{member:name}their username
{member:nick}their name on this server
{member:tag}their tag
{member:id}their ID
{member:avatar}the link to their avatar
{server}the server's name
{count}the member count, after their arrival or departure
{inviter:name}who invited them, when invite tracking is on
{invites}how many people that inviter has brought

Write \n for a line break in fields that are one line on the dashboard.

A drawn card for each newcomer

Draw a card for each newcomer replaces the plain image with a picture made for each member: their avatar, their name and the member count over your image, or over Naeris's backdrop if you have none. The card is 1500 × 500 px: a wider or taller image is cropped to fit, from the centre. With the option on, the dashboard's preview shows the real card, drawn with you as the newcomer.

Private welcome

A message sent to newcomers in private, on top of the one in the channel: the rules, where to start, how to get roles. It uses the same variables. Members who block private messages from servers won't get it, so don't put anything there that they must read.

Ban announcements

Announce bans posts a public note when someone is banned. Leave the text empty for Naeris's wording, or write your own with {member}, {member:name}, {member:id}, {server} and {reason}.
