Suggestions

Members post ideas with /suggest, everyone votes with ⬆️ and ⬇️, and the staff moves each one along: under consideration, planned, done, approved or rejected.

Setting it up

1. Turn on Accept suggestions.
2. Pick the Suggestions channel, where new suggestions are posted for voting. /suggest doesn't work until both are set.
3. Choose where reviewed suggestions go: Approved go to and Rejected go to a channel each, or Stay in the suggestions channel.
4. Add the Staff roles who review. Members with Manage Server can always review.

How a suggestion moves

Each suggestion is a card with the idea, its author and its status, with ⬆️ and ⬇️ underneath. Below the card, the staff has buttons:

• Approve and Reject, with an optional reason shown on the suggestion. The suggestion moves to its channel if you set one.
• Delete, for spam or duplicates.
• A status menu for the steps in between: Under consideration, Planned, Done.

The Review panel on the dashboard lists the suggestions Waiting, Approved and Rejected, with the same actions and a link to each one in Discord. The overview counts the ones waiting.

Options

• A thread per suggestion: discussion happens in a thread under the card, not in the channel, which stays a clean list.
• Hide who suggested: the card doesn't name the author. The staff still sees it in the history.
• Tell the author when the status changes: a private message for each new status.
• Live votes: open suggestions show their vote count and turn green or red as the votes come in. The card refreshes at most every 8 seconds.
• Minutes between two suggestions of a member: a cooldown against floods of ideas. 0 means no wait.
