Adding a feed

Click Add a feed, choose the Source, then:

SourceWhat to enterWhat gets posted
YouTubethe channel: @handle, a link or the channel IDnew videos and lives; Include Shorts adds Shorts
Twitchthe streamer's login, as in their URLthe start of each stream, with its title and game
Redditthe subreddit, without r/new posts
RSSthe feed address, like https://…/feed.xml: public https:// sites onlynew entries: blogs, news sites, podcasts, patch notes
Free gamesthe stores: Steam, Epic, GOG, or all threegames that become free to keep

Then pick where to Post in, a Role to ping if you want people to be alerted, and optionally your own Message.

Feeds are checked every 5 minutes. When you add one, what's already out isn't posted, so a new feed doesn't flood the channel with old videos. Post the latest now posts the most recent item straight away, to check that everything works.

Your own message

Leave Message empty for Naeris's wording, or write yours with these variables:

  • {title}: the video, stream, post or game title
  • {url}: the link
  • {author}: the channel, streamer or author
  • {game}: the game being streamed (Twitch)
  • {worth}: the game's usual price (free games)

For example: {author} is live: {title} → {url}.

Twitch

Twitch feeds need the bot to have its own Twitch app keys. Until they are set up, a Twitch feed can be saved but posts nothing, and the dashboard shows a notice next to it.

Notifications are set up from the dashboard only.
