Custom commands

Your own commands, which show up in Discord's / menu on your server only, and automatic answers that react when a message matches a trigger.

Commands

A custom command is a name and an answer: /rules, /ip, /socials, /apply. Each one works with / and with your prefix (!rules). Up to 50 per server.

  • Name: lowercase letters, numbers, - and _. It can't be the name of one of Naeris's commands.
  • Description: what members see in the / menu.
  • Answer: the text Naeris replies with. Send it as a card puts it in a card instead of plain text.
  • Only the member sees the answer: a private answer, with / only (Discord can't hide a reply to a prefix command).
  • Roles to give and Roles to take: the command can be a role switch too, like /notify giving the announcements role. Naeris's role must be above them.
  • Only for these roles: a staff-only command, for instance.
  • Cooldown (seconds): how long a member waits between two uses.

Saving the page updates the / menu right away. If you remove a command, it disappears from Discord too.

Variables

VariableBecomes
{user}a mention of the member who used the command
{username}their name on the server
{user.id}their ID
{server}the server's name
{members}the member count
{channel}the channel where the command was used
{args}what the member typed after the command

With {args}: an answer Good luck {args}! to /cheer the whole team gives "Good luck the whole team!".

Automatic answers

When a message matches the Trigger, Naeris answers, reacts, or both. Up to 100 per server.

Matches when the message…

  • contains it: anywhere in the message.
  • is exactly it: the whole message, nothing else.
  • starts with it.
  • has it as a word: ip matches "what's the ip?" but not "zip".
  • matches the regex: for advanced users.

Capitals and accents don't matter. Then:

  • Answer: leave it empty to only react. The same variables work, except {args}.
  • Reactions: up to 5 emojis, like 👋, or name:id for one of your server's emojis.
  • Reply to the message: answer as a reply instead of a separate message.
  • Delete the triggering message: for words you'd rather not see, with an answer that explains.
  • Only in these channels: empty means everywhere.
  • Cooldown per channel (seconds): 10 by default, so a busy channel doesn't get the same answer ten times in a row.

Only one automatic answer fires per message: the first one that matches.

Commands

Custom commands and answers are made on the dashboard only. Once made, the commands are used like any other.
